Thursday, Crater Lake to South Beach, Newport Oregon

Tent site at Lost Creek Crater Lake Oregon...  the fly was soaked with condensation on the inside...  we shook it out and turned it over to "dry" while we had our morning tea.  Pine bark beetles have decimated these woods.  Plus the elevation, not lush...

Wizard Island in Crater Lake...  check out the water color, reminds me of the color of the water you see when you are off shore.... "blue water"....  A tough day for pix, gray and overcast, poor lighting..

Fire Burning to the north...  where we are headed...

Fire Burning Since Aug 1.....   that's two full months of non-stop fire.....

We headed for South Beach Newport,  very tired and wanting to get to the low lands.  On the way we drove through Roseburg.  When we stopped for gas and a breakfast the two ladies behind the counter were frantically trying to reach loved ones that attend the community college where a mass murder had just occurred.  A sad time.

Made it to Newport, got the tent set up, both of us tired and grumpy...  slept well.
